2008 Fantasy Football RB Rankings

It's going to be an interesting year for running backs. There's so many teams going with the two back system that it's hard to have 2 quality starters on your fantasy team. Plus there's only two standout backs, LT and AD. After that, the 3-10 running backs are all tossups. Granted, Steven Jackson, Addai and Westbrook are all good, they also have the potential to be busts. Steven Jackson just signed a huge contract for $49.3 million with $21 million guaranteed to become the highest paid running back in the league. He had a so-so season last year, filled with injuries, and athletes tend to fall off after signing huge deals (Shaun Alexander). Addai is a good, young, strong back who has been consistently good the past two years. I'm just not sure I can justify drafting him number 3. Brian Westbrook always surprises me with his production. He's been one of the most underrated backs the past couple of years. He consistently puts up numbers, and he does especially well in leagues where you get points per reception. He's being tagged as the number 3 pick in many mock drafts, but I have a feeling this is the year that people will overvalue him. Some sleepers to watch out for, I think Jonathan Stewart in Carolina will have the most productive year for a rookie. I liked him at Oregon, and wish he fell in the draft to the Seahawks. He's a big, strong, downhill runner, who blocks well, and who I think will eventually take most of the carries in Carolina. He had an outstanding preseason game last Sunday. He put up an even 100 yards on 10 carries, and broke out for a 50 yard touchdown run. Another back to look out for in the later rounds is Selvin Young from the Broncos. There have been countless no-name running backs who have run in Mike Shanahan's system and succeeded (Reuben Droughns, Tatum Bell, Mike Anderson, Mike Bell, etc). I think Selvin Young will continue that pattern. And I think this will be the year that Ricky Williams returns as a consistent back. Ronnie Brown is injured, so Ricky Williams will get plenty opportunities to shine. So here are my fantasy football running back rankings.

Obama Undrcrwn T-Shirt

This is probably the best Obama shirt out there, thanks to Undrcrwn. It has Obama posterizing McCain, a la Vince Carter over Frederic Weis in the 2000 Olympics. You can pick it up here while supplies last. (The 400) Here's a clip to refresh your memory.

2008 Fantasy Football QB Rankings

So football season is just around the corner. I thought I would share with you my rankings for each position. I'll start with the quarterbacks. A couple initial thoughts on this year, I think Brady and Peyton will both have good years, but they won't come close to the numbers they put up in previous seasons. I think Romo will do exellent, and might possibly have the best year statistically out of any quarterback. Hasselbeck will struggle with the lack of wide receiver talent on the team, but despite that, the Seahawks will still win the division, and might possibly do some damage in the playoffs. I think the teams to beat this year though are the Cowboys and the Chargers. I'm making my prediction now. I say Cowboys vs. Chargers in this year's Superbowl, with the Chargers pulling it out.

1. Brady
2. Peyton
3. Romo
4. Brees
5. Garrard
6. Derrick Anderson
7. Palmer
8. McNabb
9. Big Ben
10. Favre
11. Eli
12. Rivers
13. Hasselbeck
14. Bulger
15. Matt Schaub
16. Kitna
17. Cutler
18. Aaron Rodgers
19. Warner
20. Vince Young
21. Jeff Garcia
22. Jason Campbell
23. Jamarcus Russell
24. Trent Edwards
25. Delhomme
26. Pennington
27. Troy Smith
28. Matt Ryan
29. Kyle Orton
30. Tavaris Jackson
31. Brodie Croyle
32. JT O'Sullivan

Yung Berg's Chain Jacked

Here's Yung Berg flossing with his Transformer chain.
He got jumped at a Detroit club last Friday, and ended up getting his chain jacked. Rappers make themselves targets when they're bling-blinging like that. This guy's a fool though for posting pics of him wearing it online. I'm guessing someone will be after him soon.
You gotta admit, that chain is tight though.

Michelle Obama at the Democratic National Convention

If you didn't have the chance, here's Michelle Obama's speech from last night.

"He talked about "The world as it is" and "The world as it should be." And he said that all too often, we accept the distance between the two, and settle for the world as it is — even when it doesn't reflect our values and aspirations. But he reminded us that we know what our world should look like. We know what fairness and justice and opportunity look like. And he urged us to believe in ourselves — to find the strength within ourselves to strive for the world as it should be. And isn't that the great American story?"
